Everyone responds

to music

but each person’s response is

unique.

Music therapy creates a space for

expression, connection & wellbeing.

Music Therapy is the purposeful use of music by a registered music therapist to support emotional, psychological and social wellbeing.

Through shared musical experiences such as singing, playing instruments, listening and improvising, people can express themselves, connect with others & explore new ways of relating to the world.

Music therapy in

care homes

Anyone who has spent time in a care home knows how vital music can be in bringing the home to life.

My work builds on this natural role of music, using an integrated music therapy approach tailored to the needs of each home to support individuals, groups & the whole community.

The Highgate Reflections Project

An award-winning songwriting project that brought residents, staff and families in a North London care home together through music.

Music therapy in

cancer care

I’ve spent many years as a music therapist in cancer care, working with patients and family members in both a dedicated cancer care centre and in residential care.

Here, music therapy offers clients a space for expression, connection and support during and after treatment, in palliative care, or bereavement.

My name’s Phil Evans and I have been working as a registered music therapist since 2011 in healthcare and residential care settings across London and the South East.

I specialise in music therapy for the care home and cancer care sectors…
